6th Australasian Egyptology Conference: Registration Open Now!

Exciting news! Macquarie University is hosting the 6th Australasian Egyptology Conference from Thursday 9 June until Saturday 11 June. The event will be conducted on campus, in-person and on-line, and feature three days of academic papers with international participants, in addition to colleagues and higher degree candidates from Australia and New Zealand.

In this centenary year of the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, a number of academic papers on the boy king will be offered, followed by a special 'Life and Times of Tutankhamun' Day of lectures on Sunday 12 June, (Rundle Foundation Annual Conference), on campus only.

We are welcoming two international speakers, Dimitri Laboury and Simon Connor (both Université de Liège, Belgium)who have both written extensively on Tutankhamun. Joining them will be Anna Stevens who is Assistant Director of the Amarna project working at Tell el-Amarna. The Gale Visiting Fellowship supports their visit.

The Conference will include museum visits, a cocktail party, the chance to hear the best local and international Egyptology, and more!  Australasian Women in Ancient World Studies is a sponsor of the conference.
