The Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy undertakes applied research investigating the Australian health, ageing and disability sectors at the macro level, with a particular focus on the interdependencies of the system with each other, and the broader community.  We currently have two research positions available.

Senior Research Fellow

The Role:

We are seeking a talented Level C or Level D Senior Research Fellow for a research only position to conduct original research into health technology assessment in Macquarie University’s Centre for the Health Economy (MUCHE). This includes undertaking competitive academic grant research, and research for government and non-government organisations. In this role you will generate original research ideas, produce high quality journal articles and lead research teams in health technology assessment for Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) evaluations.

About you

You are an academic leader with a track record of success in developing research ideas and leading research teams. You can contribute to external engagement activities including academic conferences, Thought Leadership events, print and social media. You can build technical skills within our health technology assessment team while supervising Masters and PhD students. You can also contribute to developing and implementing the strategic direction of MUCHE.

The Role:

We are seeking a Level A or Level B Research Fellow for a research only position to conduct original research into health technology assessment. This includes undertaking competitive academic grant research, and research for government and non-government organisations. In this role you will conduct systematic literature reviews and economic evaluations and conduct Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) evaluations. You will prepare high quality written reports, peer-reviewed journal articles and research grant applications and industry research proposals.

About you

You are a talented researcher with a track record of success working within teams and preparing high quality research. You can engage with government and non-government organisations in relation to research and thought leadership, and can help develop and teach external health economics training programs. You can analyse clinical trial and patient data using specialist statistical and modelling software.
