We are indebted to Phil Burns and Phil Gehrig, patent attorneys, of Wrays who explained IP Basics to our staff and students on 30 October. the engaged audience asked many questions during the workshop and clearly we all benefited from the depth of experience that Phil and Phil displayed. Phil Burns is also one of our alumni, which gave him excellent insights into our perspectives as researchers in Photonics, and could reflect on his own experiences of patenting as a student.
