Sobia Rehman gave an interesting presentation on her research towards an integrated hybrid chip-fibre platform for the generation of Mid-IR light, analysing the best glass hosts for ultrafast laser-written waveguide couplers incorporated into 3 micron integrated lasers. We are always delighted to hear about the progress of our PhD students, and this is a promising technology for mid IR applications.
