Kirill Koshelev, from ANU, gave a terrific seminar to MQ photonics on Light trapping with unusual waves: Bound states in the continuum, in which he explained how sharp resonances in the bound states in the continuum can lead to strong nonlinearity. We really enjoyed the talk, and it was a great introduction to this very active topic!
