Dr Ileana-Christina Benea-Chelmus of Harvard University gave us a wonderful seminar today. She presented an amazing set of experiments using ultrafast lasers to probe the correlations of the quantum fluctuations of a vacuum at room temperature and at 4 degrees Kelvin ... if you want to measure anything, light is a powerful way to do it!
