We offer collaborations for research and study

We welcome research scientists, clinicians, consumers and industry partners to collaborate with us to develop innovative solutions supporting health system efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability.

The Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI) partners with leading researchers and changemakers, and we welcome the vital input of health consumers in our co-design research.

Our local, national and international collaborations include:

  • clinicians
  • governments and agencies
  • health system managers
  • industry
  • national and international research communities
  • patients and the community
  • policymakers
  • providers of health services.

We are linked with most major health academic researchers or groups via shared grants and publications. Our international partners include leading research organisations in Europe, the UK and the US. Learn more about them in our annual report (pages 14–15).

Ways to collaborate

We highly value all our collaborative relationships across a range of sectors.

Research services

AIHI works with many stakeholders in the healthcare system to deliver translational research. We provide research services to government, not-for-profit, and commercial sectors. We offer:

  • formal long-term collaborations on research and development projects, often supported by competitive government grants
  • contract research which delivers faster turnaround research that is directly relevant to your company, for example improved targeting of your services and products
  • commercialisation of our research and technologies into products, services, and joint-venture spin-off companies.

AIHI offers capacity building and knowledge transfer to assist organisations to grow and develop in the fast-changing world of healthcare. AIHI can provide opportunities for:

  • formal research education
  • tailored short courses
  • visiting academic programs.

Scholarships

We offer scholarship opportunities for particular courses. We currently have a number of scholarships available:

Undergraduate projects

Study projects are available under the PACE program.

Postgraduate programs

Our postgraduate programs allow candidates to undertake advanced research leading to a Masters or PhD degree under the supervision of experienced and highly attentive senior research staff.

Graduate Research candidates at AIHI represent the future leaders in healthcare, embodying innovative ideas and a dedicated approach. Some of our recent candidates share their perspectives in our annual report (pages 26–27).
