Project description, aim, design and method

This project was established to implement the eICU and eVirtual ED models of care. The overall project aim is to implement and evaluate these virtual care models using the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Quadruple Aim of health outcomes, experience of patients, experience of providers and effective and efficient care. AIHI will deliver an evaluative component that examines the patient and clinician experience impacts of the models of care.

  • To determine the patient experience of receiving care in an eICU and in an eVirtual ED model of care.
  • To determine the clinician experience of providing care in an eICU and in an eVirtual ED model of care
Design and method

Mixed-methods interview and survey data collection and synthesis.
