This webinar will examine integrated suicide prevention strategies that include local communities, and discuss a unified approach to policy and prevention programs to support regional suicide prevention planning and activities. It will touch on a recent large-scale trial of a multi-level model of suicide prevention in Australia, new developments in suicide prevention, and the evidence base for suicide prevention.

About the speaker

Associate Professor Fiona Shand

Fiona is the head of suicide prevention research at the Black Dog Institute, UNSW, and the research director of LifeSpan suicide prevention, a multi-level model of suicide prevention that has been trialled in New South Wales. She leads a program of suicide prevention research that encompasses clinical, health services, community, universal prevention, and policy.
