Join us for our first webinar of 2021. Dr Jason Adelman will introduce the cutting-edge work of the Centre for Patient Safety Research, a multi-disciplinary collaboration between Columbia University Irving Medical Centre and New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

The Centre is working across multiple departments including Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Nursing, Quality, Information Technology, and Biomedical Informatics. Its mission is to develop and test innovative strategies for improving patient safety using rigorous research methods. Through leveraging health information technology, the Centre conducts federally funded as well as hospital-supported research projects to test solutions that are replicable, scalable, and make a real difference in improving patient safety.

About the speaker

Dr. Adelman is Chief Patient Safety Officer, Associate Chief Quality Officer, and Executive Director of Patient Safety Research at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Adelman is a hospitalist by training, and pursued patient safety after becoming aware of the sometimes catastrophic medical errors that occur in the hospital environment.
