About the seminar There is limited tradition for user involvement in investigations of adverse events in Norway. This presentation presents results from a one year process evaluation focusing on the next of kin’s and inspectors’ perspective of a new involvement method in the regulatory investigation process of adverse events causing patient death. Speaker profile Siri Wiig, PhD, MSc, is full Professor of Quality and Safety in Healthcare Systems at the Faulty of Health Sciences, University of Stavanger, Norway. Professor Wiig is part of the research center SHARE - Centre forResilience inHealthcare, University of Stavanger, Norway.Key research interests are resilience in healthcare, patient safety, quality improvement, user involvement, human factors, risk regulation, leadership, learning, socio-technical systems. Professor Wiig is Honorary Professor at Macquarie University and holds an adjunct position as expert in organizational safety at the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway. She has been a member of national public commissions reporting to the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services and to the Ministry of Defence. Professor Wiig has been involved in several national and international research projects as project manager, principal investigator and researcher. Currently she is project manager for the SAFE-LEAD Primary Care Study, funded by the Research Council Norway (RCN), focusing on leading quality and safety in primary care.
