From Ghana to Denmark, Professor Braithwaite shares stories of successful health programs from across the globe
Professor Jeffrey Braithwaite, founding director of the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University, was featured on ABC’s Radio National Saturday Extra program on 9 June 2018.

The program hosted by Geraldine Doogue focused on the pioneering book ‘Health Systems Improvement Across the Globe: Success stories from 60 countries’, edited by Professor Braithwaite and colleagues, looking at new ways to improve patient care.
Professor Braithwaite said, “Uniquely, we are looking at what health systems are doing right; in what context; and how we could use these strategies elsewhere.
It’s about global learning—learning beyond the normal boundaries of countries or health systems.”
More than 150 authors worldwide contributed to the book which showcases stories of successful health program implementations. Contributing authors came from a diverse range of high, middle and low-income countries that provide care to over two-thirds of the world’s 7.4 million people.
From tackling the brain drain in Ghana to reducing rates of cancer death in Denmark, Professor Braithwaite spoke about how countries could learn from each other in order to deliver better care to patients.
