A/Professor Hibbert wins international award

The Peter Reizenstein Award for Best Paper Published in the International Journal for Quality in Health Care (IJQHC) in 2018 was awarded to Associate Professor Peter Hibbert, Program Manager with the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University.
The paper, "Are root cause analyses recommendations effective and sustainable? An observational study” was selected through a rigorous nomination and voting process. It reviewed recommendations from 227 root cause analyses and found less than 1 in 10 were likely to be highly effective.
Associate Professor Peter Hibbert accepted this award on behalf of co-authors Matthew Thomas, Anita Deakin, William Runciman, Jeffrey Braithwaite, Stephanie Lomax, Jonathan Prescott, Glenda Gorrie, Amy Szcygielski, Tanja Surwald and Catherine Fraser.
The award is named after Peter Reizenstein who was the International Society for Quality in Health Care’s (ISQua) first president and the founding editor of the International Journal for Quality in Health Care.
