CACHE is delighted to announce the successful funding of four member initiatives for 2022! Our next mini-series for CACHE News introduces all our successful CACHE initiatives and the project teams.

The next successful initiative is titled Development of Training Resources for 3D Digitisation Professional Development through the MQ3DScancorp Initiative. The project team includes Mr Michael Rampe (Learning Design and Production Lead, Faculty of Arts); Prof. Shawn Ross (History and Archaeology / DVCRO); Dr Susan Lupack (History and Archaeology); and Dr Karin Sowada (History and Archaeology).

3D imaging technologies are increasingly used as supporting data and also foundation data for a range of research questions related to CACHE, as evidenced by the recent Living Digital Heritage conference. Fundamental to the increasing engagement of these technologies is training current and future generations on their use. This initiative is in a unique position to increase skills and professional development in cutting edge 3D imaging technologies. CACHE funding as well as funding from Faculty will be used to create a set of training resources through the MQ3DScancorp initiative that can be used by researchers and teachers in their work as well as form the basis for short course and micro-credential proposals. In essence, the team will create the foundation materials for a workshop program out of the MQ3DScancorp initiative.

Congratulations to Michael Rampe and the team. CACHE looks forward to following their continued success exploring this important initiative.
