The 4th Variation and Language Processing Conference (VALP4) will be held at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia from 23-25 January 2019, after successful previous conferences in the UK, New Zealand and the United States.
This conference provides a venue for researchers coming from traditionally distinct fields, such as sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, cognitive science, experimental phonetics, syntax and pragmatics, who work on the relationship between linguistic variation in its widest sense and language processing.

Registration and Program
Registration fees for the three days:
- AUD 200 for faculty members
- AUD 150 for postdocs and adjuncts
- AUD 120 for student participants
- AUD 85 for conference dinner including wine
Morning tea, afternoon tea, and lots of coffee will be provided on each of the three days.

Getting to Macquarie University
Train
IMPORTANT NOTE: The train line servicing Macquarie University is currently being converted to a metro line. Due to conversion works the the train station at Macquarie University will be closed for the duration of the conference. An alternative, high frequency bus service will replace trains between Chatswood and Epping stations in both directions.
Participants travelling to the conference from Sydney should take a northbound T1 train to Chatswood station and change for the SL1 replacement bus. Alternatively participants can change at St Leonards station for the SL3 or SL4 buses, or at Epping for the SL1, SL7, or SL8 buses.
