By studying the science of life and all living things, we aim to deliver sustainable, practical solutions to complex issues affecting real-word problems in our environment, human health and disease.
Natural sciences
At Macquarie's School of Natural Sciences, you can study in the fields of:
- Biological and medical sciences – explore diverse sub-disciplines including cell and developmental biology, behaviour, biodiversity, conservation, ecology, genetics, microbiology, anatomy and physiology.
- Earth and environmental sciences – by focusing on practical skills and field-based learning, we teach our students how to understand and manage the environment – now and into the future.
- Molecular and chemical sciences – join a community that’s pioneered the science of proteomics, leads food industry training in molecular technologies, and is a breeding ground for burgeoning biotechnology companies.
The science labs at Macquarie, where I do my practical work, are exceptional. They're industry standard or better, so the equipment I use is exactly what I'll be using when I enter the workforce.
