Dr Welly Firmanto

Dr Welly Firmanto is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the corporate and higher education sectors. In his current role as General Manager of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, he provides strategic leadership in the development and execution of infrastructure and operational plans to enable the delivery of the faculty's strategy and goals. He also provides management and oversight over all non-academic operational aspects, including finance, human resources, marketing, external relations, student services and research laboratory operations.

Welly is also the Chief Operating Officer of MQ Health where he provides high level strategic advice to the Managing Director. He provides leadership on and management of business planning, workforce planning, resource allocation, clinical operations and performance monitoring. He also manages the relationships with the parent entity, the hospital support services and clinicians.

Previously Welly was the Executive Officer to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Engagement & Advancement) at Macquarie University. In this position, Welly provided strategic leadership, support and advice on the development and implementation of strategies, policies and programs in the areas of marketing, student recruitment, corporate engagement and advancement.

Prior to that Welly had demonstrated a range of achievements as a skilled healthcare and retail business executive. He is an accomplished project manager of publicly and privately funded healthcare projects and a creative innovator in brand development, design and marketing.
