Advisory Group

Our Advisory Group brings together experts from external organisations across our core research areas, with the aim of increasing engagement and collaboration between industry, government and academia on renewable and sustainable energy initiatives and projects, to ensure our research strategy is well aligned to industry requirements, and to achieve research impact in driving the sustainable energy transition in Australia.

Gregory Wilson is Principal Research Scientist and Research Group Leader for Solar Technologies in CSIRO Energy and Conjoint Professor at University of Newcastle with over 20 years research experience in R&D. Dr Wilson is a respected and internationally recognised authority in the development of next generation photovoltaics and his group leads the only accredited photovoltaic cell measurement facility in the Southern Hemisphere. He leads an important renewable energy technologies portfolio in CSIRO with significant clients including Australian Government Departments, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and is the lead organisation for the Australian Solar Thermal Research Institute. Dr Wilson is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Royal Australian Institute of Chemistry, Australian Institute of Physics and the Australian Institute of Energy and is a regular invited advisor on industry and university panels, in Australia and internationally.Billy is a chartered chemical engineer with 25+ years’ experience providing technical leadership for the innovation, design and safety of gas products, gas plants and manufacturing processes at BOC/Linde.
