Australian Media History Database (archive)
The Australian Media History Database is an archived portal for all aspects of research into the history of the media in Australia. It aimed to alert researchers - from industry, academe and the wider community - to current work being undertaken in the field, and to direct them to relevant resources across Australia.
The AMHD has two components:
- A database of researchers currently working on projects about the history of Australian newspapers, magazines, radio, television, film, advertising, music, and games. The Researcher Database is fully searchable.
- Listings of relevant research resources, including libraries and archives, online resources, indexes, professional associations, courses, and events.
Launched in 2005, a pilot database grew out of a large Australian Research Council-funded history of television project conducted by Professor Liz Jacka and Associate Professor Paula Hamilton at the University of Technology, Sydney. The construction of the full Australian Media History Database was funded, and launched online, by the ARC Cultural Research Network at the University of Queensland in 2006. The AMHD was redesigned by, and relocated to, the Centre for Media History at Macquarie University in 2011.
Humanities Networked Infrastructure
HuNI (Humanities Networked Infrastructure) combines data from many Australian cultural websites into the biggest humanities and creative arts database ever assembled in Australia.
