Professor Sakkie Pretorius

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Integrity and Development) contributes to strategic development and oversight to improve researcher development and research integrity across the University.
The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Performance) supports the University’s vision for an accelerating and impactful performance in discovery. It also provides strategic leadership to improve our research fitness and adaptability in a challenging and changing environment.
Research Services work in partnership with colleagues across the University’s research ecosystem to deliver research support services for pre award, post award and reporting, research ethics and integrity, and research policy, contracts, compliance and biosafety.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is the chief academic officer of the University and is a member of the University Executive with overall responsibility for the planning, quality and delivery of education provided to Macquarie’s undergraduate and graduate students.
The Office of Dean of Students leads the development of the student experience and sense of community across the university, both on campus and digitally. The Office leads the University’s work on student: engagement, inclusion and belonging; safety; wellbeing; conduct and provides support to student groups and the Student Representative Council.

The Vice-President, Professional Services, has executive responsibility for people and culture, information technology, marketing and communications, global and domestic student recruitment, and the provision of shared services.
Future Students is responsible for domestic and international student recruitment into sub-bachelor, undergraduate and postgraduate programs aligned with the University-wide strategic framework. We work across all aspects of the recruitment cycle to support the decision-making process.

Group Marketing is responsible for developing and coordinating end-to-end marketing solutions that drive our University’s success.
Our Group Marketing team also includes Communications and Events and Protocol teams.
Human Resources is responsible for University-wide people and culture strategies and provision of advice and solutions for managers and staff on a range of HR matters. This includes recruitment and induction, workforce planning, succession planning, change management, organisational and leadership development, staff engagement, diversity and inclusion strategies, performance management, industrial relations and compensation.
Information Technology is responsible for the design, deployment and management of information and communication technologies in support of University's operations, and the delivery of the University's digital strategy and roadmap.

The Vice-President, Finance and Resources is responsible for the financial management and operations of the University. Portfolio responsibility includes statutory and management reporting and systems, financial accounting, budgeting, treasury, procurement and accounts payable, assets, revenue, and tax. The Vice-President, Finance and Resources is a member of the University Executive.
Finance is responsible for deploying standardised processes and efficient systems to deliver consistent, high-quality finance and finance administrative services to the Macquarie University community.
Group Risk is responsible for the University’s Insurance Program, including the proactive management and mitigation of known insurable risk events and the purchase of insurance policies.

The Vice-President, Strategy, Planning & Performance has executive responsibility for the development and execution of University strategy, for cross-institutional planning and for oversight of organisational level performance. The role supports the Vice-Chancellor, Executive Group and University Council in ensuring the long-term sustainability and strategic direction of the University and its subsidiaries.
Business Intelligence and Reporting leverages a central source of truth and systems of record to create unbiased analysis and actionable insights across various delivery methods for faculty, research and operational units.

The General Counsel’s Office is responsible for providing legal services to the University, including providing legal advice to the Council, the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, senior executives and other officers of the University.
