Become a Student Mobility Ambassador

Join our growing ambassador community, share your unique Study Abroad or Exchange experience at Macquarie and get a stipend to use during your time in Sydney!

The Opera House and the Harbour Bridge are in the background.We are looking for students soon to come to Macquarie on a Study Abroad or Exchange program who want to inspire future participants to come to study and live in Sydney. As an ambassador, you will share your knowledge and embody the overseas study experience by participating in our university events and generating digital content showcasing your time here.

Duration of ambassadorship

Your role as an ambassador will have two specific stages:

  • Your semester in Australia
  • The semester following your time at Macquarie, upon returning to your home country

Your responsibilities

As a Student Mobility Ambassador, you will:

  • participate in the organisation and realisation of a range of face-to-face and online events including Kickstart, Welcome sessions, Pre-departure sessions, and Bon Voyage activities.
  • create and submit content for our social media (Instagram, YouTube, web pages) showcasing your story and experiences as an overseas student at Macquarie living in Sydney.
  • offer advice and guidance to future incoming Study Abroad and Exchange students.
  • give presentations to Macquarie students to promote your home institution/country as an overseas study destination.
  • act as an ambassador of Macquarie University back in your home university by sharing your overseas experiences and promoting the benefits of coming to Macquarie on our Study Abroad or Exchange programs.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, you need to:

  • be an international student accepted to come to Macquarie on a Study Abroad or Exchange program
  • be passionate and highly motivated about living in Australia and studying at Macquarie
  • be eager to create and share videos, photos, and written statements about your overseas experience
  • meet deadlines and show a high sense of commitment
  • be willing to learn and share detailed information about the programs offered by Macquarie
  • have strong interaction and communication skills
  • be able to work as part of a team made up of Macquarie staff and other incoming students.

Benefits

If selected to become a Student Mobility Ambassador, you will receive the following benefits:

  • A one-off stipend of AUD$1000 that will be provided after your arrival in Sydney and after Census date. Please refer to the Calendar of Dates for more information.
  • Minimum of 20 points for your Global Leadership Certificate
  • A referral letter from the Student Mobility Team
  • Macquarie University limited merchandise
  • The opportunity to join the growing network of Student Mobility Ambassadors
