Gathering to Celebrate CLaS Renewal

Gathering to Celebrate CLaS Renewal

CLaS Advisory Board members, researchers and guests came together on Friday 1st March to celebrate the renewal of the Centre for Language Sciences for the period 2019-2021. Professor Rozz Thornton welcomed everyone to the gathering, acknowledging the support of the University Executive and thanking Faculty of Human Sciences Research Office personnel for assistance with the research centre application last year. The primary focus of CLaS for the renewal period is to study language development in children and young people with hearing loss. Our thanks to Jim Hungerford and Aleisha Davis (The Shepherd Centre), Greg Leigh (Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children), Samantha Harkus (Australian Hearing), Harvey Dillon (National Acoustic Laboratories) and CLaS Advisory Board Chair, Anne Cutler (Western Sydney University) for joining us at the event. We were also pleased to welcome visitors hosted by Paul Sowman from Kanawaza University - Mitsuru Kikuchi, Tetsu Hirosawa, Chiaki Hasegawa and Kyung-min An.
