Installation of new equipment in Macquarie's high-pressure laboratory

In January 2020, two new piston-cylinder apparatuses were delivered and installed in the high-pressure laboratory, joining the multi-anvil presses that were installed in the newly renovated lab last year.

One of the new presses in operation during the first test run at 1 GPa and 1000˚C. The blue glow is programmed to turn red in the event of a technical problem.
