About Mia Mia

Who we are

Hand writing on paperMia Mia Child and Family Study Centre is a long-day early childhood school with a national and international reputation for excellence in early childhood education and teaching.

Mia Mia serves families of the local community and Macquarie University staff and students. Its specialist team provides a happy and stimulating learning environment for children from six weeks old to when they start school - enriching all who take part in its caring, welcoming and diverse community.

Mia Mia is the demonstration program for the School of Education and provides students, researchers, academics and other educators with premium opportunities for educational training, mentoring, observation and research.

Mia Mia is also a site of innovative practice.

We are open from 7.30am to 6pm five days a week, 49 weeks a year, and close on public holidays.

We offer a high-quality program based on the intellectual pursuit of excellence in early childhood education and care through collaborative and individual research and practice.

We are committed to upholding the rights of the child and engaging children meaningfully in experiences that promote their desire for learning and spark their curiosity. Children use these skills to explore an environment that supports the development of positive relationships and nurtures each individual's sense of belonging, being and becoming. We also foster mutually respectful partnerships with families in the context of a culturally diverse community.

We are located on Macquarie University's Wallumattagal campus at 29 Wally's Walk (near the Balaclava Road entry to the University). Find us on the campus map at N11.
