CBMS Researchers participate in CSIRO On Prime to take research ideas to the marketplace
Researchers from CBMS have been selected to participate in the CSIRO sci-tech pre-accelerator, ON PRIME, to help drive their science and technology ideas from the lab to the marketplace.
Dr Louise Brown and PhD candidate Ishan Das Rastogi have joined forces with Dr Varun Sreenivasan and Dr Carlo Bradac from the Department of Physics, and A/Prof James Rabeau, to develop new nanoscale gem based fluorescent probes for life science applications. Their team “LuciGem – Seeing Small” believe these novel photostable and bright probes can help researchers visualise new biology at the nanoscale. LuciGem commenced the eight-week program at the Sydney ON Prime ‘hub’ on the 20th September, and are supported by funds provided through the National Innovation and Science Agenda.
