Unlocking intelligences to create smarter futures
The Macquarie University Minds and Intelligences Research Centre integrates insights from neuroscience, data science and the social sciences to create smarter systems, support smarter decisions and shape smarter societies.
We work beyond faculties and disciplines to bring together diverse expertise, knowledge and skills.
Very different systems – be they animal brains, computer systems, corporations or ant swarms – face common challenges of processing complex and diverse streams of information to reach an optimal solution. Comparing and contrasting how diverse systems operate can reveal the principles behind smart decision making and intelligent behaviour.
We deliver interdisciplinary teams capable of addressing the totality of complex contemporary issues in intelligence, mind and organisational intelligence research.
Our vision is to leverage a deep understanding of the many different forms of natural intelligence to deliver smarter systems and smarter solutions to contemporary challenges in our society.
The Macquarie University Minds and Intelligences Research Centre is proudly supported by the Templeton World Charity Foundation.
