2014 Women, Management and Work conference to focus on igniting leaders and Intrapreneurs

Most people are familiar with the concept of entrepreneurs, but the idea of fostering creativity and innovation within the workplace –  intrapreneurship – will be the focus of this year’s Women, Management and Work conference.

Intrapreneurship has become popular as companies aim to leverage their employees’ ability to innovate and stay competitive in the marketplace.

The conference is targeted at established and up and coming female leaders in corporate Australia and those interested in the women in leadership agenda, will be held on Wednesday 12 November at Sydney’s Sheraton on the Park.

It will ignite discussion and encourage women looking to make their mark in leadership using entrepreneurial concepts such as taking risks, selling ideas and seeing opportunities where others don’t within a corporate framework.

Speakers include:

  • Soula-Marie Perdis, COO, Napoleon Perdis USA
  • Donna Meredith, CEO, Keystone Corporate Positioning
  • Sandy Wright, Executive Development Manager, AMP
  • Angela Lovegrove, Regional General Manager NSW, Telstra Business
  • Ann Massey, Syndicate Chair, CEO Institute
  • Deborah Harrigan, Dell APJ Sales and Marketing

Alumni are eligible to attend the conference and gala dinner for the discounted rate of $1,055 (excluding GST). Use the discount code WMWCAD14. To register, or for more information, visit the conference website.

The conference is timely. Conferences such as this provide rare opportunities for women as leaders or otherwise to meet and share experiences and formulate ideas and solutions to address the age-old problem of too few women in leadership and decision making positions in all spheres of our societies. Papua New Guinea suffered and continues to suffer from the absence of women in leadership and decision making positions.
There is so much to learn from the women leaders who are speaking at the conference and other participants. I hope I can attend. Best wishes- in solidarity with colleagues advocating for women in leadership and decision making positions and the inclusion of women’s entrepreneurial leadership.

Angela, thanks for the comment. Interesting that you should mention PNG. Our MC, Donna Meredith is currently working in PNG and has some great insights to share about that part of the world and their management issues. It would be wonderful to meet you at the Conference – don’t forget Early bird closes soon.
