The Master of Actuarial Practice is recognised by two professional bodies: the Actuaries Institute (AI) and the Society of Actuaries (SOA). The logos of both professional bodies should be retained in the accreditation section. For the Actuaries Institute (AI), students may be eligible, subject to sufficient academic performance in relevant units, to gain exemptions from the following subjects in the Foundation Program: CM1, CM2, CS1, CS2, CB1 and CB2, as well as the following subjects in the Actuary Program: ACC and DSP. For the Society of Actuaries (SOA), students may be eligible, subject to sufficient academic performance in relevant units, to gain university-earned credit for the following requirements: VEE Economics, VEE Accounting and Finance, VEE Mathematical Statistics, Exam FM, Exam P, Exam FAM, Exam ALTAM, Exam ASTAM and Exam SRM. Actuarial studies undergraduate degree from a university recognised by the Actuaries Institute or the UK Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or other actuarial professional societies. Alternatively, a passing grade in the professional exams of either of these accreditation bodies are also considered. Quantitative degrees such as Mathematics, Statistics or Risk Management related degrees are also considered.
*'Bachelor’s qualification' relates to an AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent.
