Free media training

Are you looking to boost your media profile in 2015, but hesitate before stepping in front of the microphone or camera? Strengthen your communication, presentation, and interview skills in a series of free media training workshops to be held throughout the year.

Hosted by renowned ABC News broadcaster Richard Morecroft, these sessions are a popular development opportunity for early, mid and senior career researchers.

For the first time you can now enrol yourself in two tiers of media training directly through HR Online.

1) With the next session on 28 April, the three-hour Foundations of media engagement seminar is designed for early to mid career researchers as an introduction/refresher on media engagement.

2) For the more experienced or senior staff member who regularly interacts with the media, Richard also offers an Intensive interview preparation session to refine interview skills and media strategies. This full day session includes one-on-one practice exercises with Richard. The next session is slated for 14 July. Limited spots are available on recommendation from your Head of Department or the Media and Communications team.

All sessions are catered, and held in the HR training rooms.
