Congratulations on receiving an offer for a higher degree research program at Macquarie University!

BPhil - domestic

If you are a domestic candidate (Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident) who has received a Bachelor of Philosophy offer from Macquarie University, you will need to complete the following to accept your offer:

Once you have accepted your offer, please download and read/complete the following:

  • Research enrolment form This will need to be completed and returned to hdr.admissions@mq.edu.au at least two weeks before the start of session.
  • Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF)  – this is a government form that is completed in eStudent. Please note this must be completed in order for enrolment to proceed. Information on completing the form is available here.
  • The Living Allowance claim form (only applicable to eligible, full time candidates). You must read the Conditions of Award before completing your Living Allowance claim form. Once completed it should be emailed to hdrschol@mq.edu.au.
  • The Unit Selection form (USF) When selecting units of study, you will be required to consult with, and arrange a signature of approval from your departmental MRes Advisor. Upon the Advisor’s signature, the form can be submitted to your Faculty HDR Administration office, who will arrange the Faculty Associate Dean or delegate’s signature. The completed form will then be forwarded to the HDR Office or alternatively you may have to return the signed form to the HDRO yourself. You should aim to have the USF with your faculty 2-4 weeks before the start of session to ensure prompt enrolment into your units.

We would also encourage you to browse sample study programs, coursework timetablesfee information, and information relating to Commonwealth Supported Places  prior to the commencement start date.

Once we receive the completed forms, you will be enrolled into the approved units. We will email you with confirmation of your enrolment.

Session 2 2019 classes commence Monday 29 July 2019.

Master of Research Year 1 - international

If you are an international candidate who has received a Master of Research Year 1 offer, you will need to complete the following to accept your offer:

Once you have sent us your Acceptance Pack/CoE Request form (including OSHC payment and Commencement Fee), we will issue you with a CoE that will enable you to apply for your Student Visa (subclass 500).

As enrolment takes place after you arrive at Macquarie University we would encourage you to arrive at our office at least 2 weeks before the start of session so that you can get your units organised and be settled in Sydney before enrolment.

Session 2 2019 classes commence Monday 29 July 2019.

Master of Research Year 2 - domestic

If you are a domestic candidate (Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident) who has received a Master of Research Yr 2 offer, you will need to complete the following to accept your offer:

Candidates must submit completed forms to the OHDRTP. You will be enrolled with a commencement date of January 1st (session 1) or July 1st (session 2). The OHDRTP will commence enrolment as of these dates, and you will receive a confirmation email once your enrolment has been finalised.

Master of Research Year 2 - international

If you are an International candidate who has received a Master of Research Yr 2 offer, you will need to complete the following to accept your offer:

Note:  Before you accept your offer you should read the MRES Fee and Refund Guide to ensure you understand both your obligations and the university's, regarding tuition fees. If you are in receipt of a Macquarie University or Commonwealth funded scholarship you must also read the Conditions of Award.

Once you have sent us your Acceptance Pack/CoE Request form (including OSHC payment and Commencement Fee), HDRO will issue you with a CoE that will enable you to apply for your Student Visa (subclass 500).

As enrolment takes place after you arrive at Macquarie University we would encourage you to arrive in Sydney at least 1-2 weeks before the start of session so that you can get settled before enrolment. Please come to the OHDRTP reception for enrolment.

For MRes Yr 2 candidates, Session 1 commences on January 1st and Session 2 commences on July 1st.

MPhil or PhD - domestic (new candidate)

If you are a domestic candidate (Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident) who has received a MPhil or PhD offer, you will need to complete the following to accept your offer:

Once we receive the completed forms, you will be enrolled on your nominated start date. You will receive a confirmation email once your enrolment has been finalised.

MPhil or PhD - domestic (progressing candidate)

If you are a domestic candidate (Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident) who has received an offer to progress from the MRes into a MPhil or PhD, you will need to complete the following to accept your offer:

MPhil or PhD - international (new candidate)

If you are an international candidate who has received a MPhil or PhD offer, you will need to complete the following to accept your offer:
