Research Services
- MND Australia’s Innovator Grants support research that aims to answer new research questions or new aspects of research.
- MND Australia Postdoctoral Fellowships are directed towards postdoctoral researchers with a track record in MND or areas related to MND, or who can bring new skills and knowledge into Australian MND research.
The fellowships aim to encourage young researchers to focus their interest on classical forms of MND.
Innovator Grant: a maximum value of $100,000 for a 12-month to 18-month project.
Post-doctoral Fellowship: provide a contribution of $125,000 p.a. towards a full-time salary for three years plus a one-off research expense payment of $50,000. Applicants must have no more than five years research experience from the date their doctoral thesis was passed (ast at 21st September 2026).
Please complete and submit a Macquarie University Notification of Intent form ASAP if you intend to apply for a MND Australia grant or fellowship in this round.
Applications are submitted by email to MND Australia by the Research Services Grant Development team.

- GDT Strategic Review Period: 24 August – 26 August 2026 (optional GDT service); Book here
- GDT Compliance & Eligibility Check Period: 7 September - 8 September 2026 (mandatory GDT service); Book here
- Schemes close (all schemes): Monday 21 September 2026 (by 5pm)
- Recipients notified: late 2026
