Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) provides funding for research across housing, homelessness, cities and urban policy arenas. Funding is available under the National Housing Research Program (NHRP), delivered on behalf of the Commonwealth and all state/territory governments.

The Australia–Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme is an initiative of Universities Australia and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – Germany’s national agency for the support of international academic cooperation.
DAAD also promotes other German exchange and visiting researcher schemes. These include opportunities from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Max Planck Institutes, and the German Research Foundation (DFG).
