Nicole Gower

Biography

Nicole Gower joined Macquarie University as Director of Human Resources in October 2014 and is now Vice-President, Professional Services. She is an experienced executive with specialisation in corporate services, organisational transformation, leadership and people strategy, and digital strategy. Her industry specialisations include Higher Education, Financial Services (particularly superannuation) and Professional Services. Nicole currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of UniSuper Limited and U@MQ, a controlled entity of Macquarie University. She is the Executive Group sponsor for several strategic University initiatives including the Gender Equity Strategy, UniForum benchmarking and several streams of the University’s Operating Plan. She holds a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Technology, Sydney. Nicole is also an accredited mediator and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Vice-President, Professional Services

The Vice-President, Professional Services has executive responsibility for people and culture, information technology, marketing and communications, global and domestic student recruitment, and the provision of shared services.

Responsibilities:

  • Organisational change and transformation
  • People, leadership and culture related strategy
  • Executive oversight of information technology and digital transformation strategies
  • Domestic and international student recruitment and market development
  • Brand, reputation, and communication and engagement strategies
  • Delivery of Professional Services Transformation Program
  • Shared Services function.
