Register for accessibility support

Find out whether you are eligible to register with the Accessibility Service.

Eligibility

Students from Macquarie University and its associated schools (including Macquarie University CollegeOpen Universities Australia, Macquarie Graduate School of ManagementEnglish Language Program) are all welcome to register with the Accessibility Service, provided they are a currently enrolled student. Students can register regardless of study mode (on campus/online/distance) or study load (part-time/full time).

Registration

You can register at any time during your studies, but registration should be completed as soon as possible so that the University has time to implement the required supports. We suggest you register as soon as you have enrolled in your subjects. Students will need to have an IEAP developed by no later than Week 9 of the session to have exam adjustments coordinated for that sessions associated formal exam period. Any supports listed on your IEAP cannot be implemented retrospectively.

Steps to register and receive your supports:

  1. Have your Health Practitioner complete your supporting documentation (for Specific Learning Disabilities an adult psychometric report, for Hearing impairments a recent Audiogram and Audiologist Report and for most other diagnoses a Health Practitioners Report (HPR) [PDF 2MB].
  2. Submit the Accessibility Service registration form with your supporting documentation attached (your student login is required).
    After your registration has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an invitation to book in an appointment with an Accessibility Advisor via the online portal. Appointments will not be approved unless a registration has been reviewed and an invitation sent.
  3. Attend a disability assessment appointment with one of the Accessibility Advisors.
  4. Follow any directions given by the Accessibility Team to request/access specific adjustments.
