Connect More

Learning and Teaching Week is our annual celebration of learning and teaching at Macquarie, and offers our community the chance to discuss the ways in which staff, students, alumni, industry and community partners, and the broader society, connect with resources, research and expertise.

“Macquarie’s Learning and Teaching Strategy (White Paper) will be one of a number of topics expected to draw much discussion during Learning and Teaching Week,” said Dr Theresa Winchester-Seeto, Head Curriculum and Academic Practice Group, Learning and Teaching Centre. “The White Paper will be the blueprint on how Macquarie can further connect with industry leaders and ensure our graduates access quality employment opportunities.”

With the theme this year of ‘Connect More,’ Learning and Teaching Week will offer staff the chance to see panel discussions, take part in interactive sessions, and hear from a number of keynote speakers.

“Rob Manson’s presentation on Wearable Technologies is sure to draw a big response from both staff and students eager to discover what the latest technology trend is,” said Dr Winchester-Seeto.

Dr Winchester-Seeto says the popular 3-Minute Thesis competition is also expected to create interest as students compete to win the Macquarie title and further represent Macquarie at the Trans-Tasman 3MT Competition held at the University of Queensland on Friday 2 October 2015.

Other keynote speakers include Pia Waugh, who believes tech culture has a major role to play in achieving better policy planning, outcomes, public engagement and public services; the Big History MOOC panel led by Professor David Christian; and the Poster Session presentation.
