New name for the Faculty of Science

At its most recent meeting last Thursday, Macquarie University Council approved a submission from the Faculty of Science to change its name to the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

The proposal noted that engineering at Macquarie had grown rapidly in terms of students, staff and space over the last few years, and that further growth in undergraduate, postgraduate and research numbers is predicted. The change of Faculty name would help to support this growth, by raising the visibility of Macquarie’s suite of engineering programs, research and industry collaboration throughout Australia and around the globe.

Further information about how and when the new name will be rolled out will be communicated by the Faculty in due course.
