Timeless fun at Open Day

The campus came alive on Saturday 13 September for Open Day, opening up a world of new opportunities for the students of 2015 and beyond.

Despite the rainy start, more than 13,000 visitors attended over 100 lectures, while more than 600 staff worked tirelessly throughout the day.

Potential students also got a taste of social life on campus with 20 students groups showing off what student life is like outside the classroom.

In celebration of our Jubilee year, a time capsule providing insights into life at Macquarie in 2014 was buried at the Foundation Stone in the Central Courtyard, to be unearthed at our centenary in 2064.

“There are not too many things that are more important than an understanding of where we’re coming from and where we’re going,” said our Chancellor the Hon Michael Egan AO, as the capsule was lowered into the ground.
