From 10am to 4pm this Saturday 13 September more than 13,000 visitors will explore our campus and their future study options. Find out more about the work of the university and get involved in fun family events.

Event highlights for staff

Jubilee Time Capsule ceremony
To celebrate our Jubilee year, a time capsule providing insights into life at Macquarie in 2014 will be buried at the Foundation Stone in the Central courtyard at 12.30pm, to be unearthed at our centenary in 2064.

Vegesafe
Plant your summer crops with confidence; bring a soil sample from your garden for testing by our leading environmental scientists.

For the kids
Learn how to write your name in Egyptian hieroglyphs; take a camel ride, ride a Segway, the trackless train or even a pony; play a giant game of Jenga or Connect Four, or join fun science activities throughout the day.

Take a tour
See what the robotic cranes do behind the scenes at our Library, discover our sculpture park, hear from our Art Gallery curators, or even create your own artistic masterpiece.

Road Closures
The following road closures will be in place on the day with access for authorised vehicles only:

  • Eastern Road closure:  9.30am to 4pm
  • Science Road closure:  9.30am to 4pm
  • Central Avenue closure:  7am to 5pm
  • University Avenue:  open with one lane (one way) access only.
