A spectacular success for Motor Neurone Disease fundraising

Last Friday 20 June more than 500 guests attended a spectacular fundraising event at the Ivy Ballroom, in support of  the Motor Neurone Disease Service at Macquarie University.

Proceeds totalled $70 000 prior to the event and tens of thousands of dollars were raised through auction items and raffles on the night.

Steve Willis (aka The Commando from The Biggest Loser TV series) was the night’s MC and guests were also treated to a very special performance by Stan Walker – fresh from opening for Beyonce.

Dominic Rowe AM, Professor of Neurology  and Chairman of the Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia was delighted with the generosity of attendees.

“It was a fantastic evening to raise much needed funds for clinical care and vital research to stop this disease, ” he said.
