Weather Report delivered from ‘base camp’

“We’re off our P-plates now and on the autobahn” was the message from our Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) last week as he unveiled a bold, aspirational but achievable set of targets for rankings, funding, real-world impact and higher degree student completions over the next ten years.

Heralding the launch of Macquarie’s Research Framework (2015 – 2024) – a core initiative of the Our University: a Framing of Futures strategic vision, Professor Pretorius spoke of the need for the academic and support staff community to collaborate on innovative ways to increase the university’s reputation and attract the world’s best and brightest. “Leadership in this effort is down to all of us, not just the Executive Deans and those of us in the Chancellery” he said.

A green paper on the framework is due to be tabled on 30 June, with a white paper to follow in September. Find out more about the Research Weather Report V2.0 and the progress of the Research Framework (2015 – 2024).
