Established in 2002 by the Bangarra Group, the Bennelong Foundation aims to enhance community wellbeing and provide opportunities for positive and lasting change in our community. The Foundation also aims to provide opportunities for people within the Bangarra Group to personally get involved in the activities of the organisations it supports.

The Bennelong Foundation is generously funding one scholarship of $10,000 ($5,000 in Session 1, 2019 and $5,000 in Session 2, 2019) to a Macquarie University student who can demonstrate hardship. It is designed to support students whose opportunities to study at university and future career may have been hampered by situations outside their control, including, but not limited to, facing financial hardship, being first in your family to attend university, coming from a non-English speaking background or having a long-term medical condition or disability.

Applicants need to be in receipt of Youth Allowance or other means-tested Commonwealth support.

Along with the scholarship, the recipient will take part in a paid internship with 4D Infrastructure, within the Bangarra Group, from February to November 2019 one day per week (approx. $8,000 in remuneration, dependent on start and finish date). Applications are open to domestic students who will be enrolled full-time in 2019 in the second or third year of the Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce – Professional Accounting, or Bachelor of Applied Finance, or Bachelor of Actuarial Studies at Macquarie University.

Applicants will be required to submit a personal statement and may be called to attend an interview.
