About the scholarship
The Business School Indigenous Scholarship was established to support Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students undertaking one of the undergraduate programs offered by Macquarie University Business School to enable a better pathway to success. The scholarship is valued $15,000 per year for up to three years.
Duration
This scholarship is awarded for up to three years, subject to ongoing eligibility criteria.
Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship applicants must:
- Identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Be an Australian citizen
- Commencing full-time study in any Undergraduate degree within the Business School at Macquarie University in Session 1 2027
- Be a current school leaver, or graduate of the previous year who have not undertaken any tertiary study in their gap year
- Be able to demonstrate financial hardship
- Have lodged an Equity Scholarship application through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)

- The application will require two (2) reference letters, and will include the following personal statement questions:
- What motivated you to choose your choice of course at Macquarie University?
- How might this scholarship make a difference to your studies and career?
- What do you hope to achieve once you have completed a Macquarie University degree?
- How has overcoming adversity strengthened you as an individual? Examples of adversity could be financial disadvantage, sole parent or carer responsibility, non-English speaking or First Nation background, effects of trauma, and/or abuse, long term medical condition or disability, or coming from a regional or remote area.
