How to apply as an international student
Find everything you need to know about becoming an undergraduate or postgraduate student at Macquarie University.
You’re considered an international student if you do not have any of the following:
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship
- Australian permanent resident status
- a permanent Australian humanitarian visa.
- See if your current qualification is recognised and convert your current qualification score into an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).
- Ensure you meet the English language requirements for your chosen course.
- Check if you’re eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL).
You must apply via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) if you are a current high school student completing one of the following qualifications:
- Australian Year 12 qualification (NSW HSC or interstate equivalent) in or outside of Australia
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in Australia
- New Zealand NCEA Level 3 qualification.

Approved representatives can help you with your application and assist with packaged offers and visa applications. Macquarie University only accepts applications from official representatives under contract with the University to provide professional and reliable advice.
