The Ninth Macquarie Neurodegeneration Meeting

This event aims to bring neuroscientists together to showcase their research and stimulate collaboration. Together, we can better understand and develop treatments for motor neuron disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

The Macquarie Neurodegeneration Meeting is a hybrid one-day program held on 24 September 2026 in the Ainsworth Clinical Education Building (1 WW) at Macquarie University. Attendees will participate in person and online.

Registration is free and can be either virtual or in-person. In-person attendance includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

The conference will be held in the Ainsworth Building, Lecture Theatre, 1 Wally's Walk, Macquarie University, NSW, 2109, Australia.

Public Transport

  • Metro- The Macquarie University Metro stop is on Herring Rd opposite Macquarie Shopping Centre. This is a 5–10 minutes walk to the conference venue.
  • Buses – The closest bus stops are on Herring Rd next to the Metro station. This is a 5–10 minutes walk to the conference venue.

The quickest way to walk from the metro and bus is to use Innovation Rd as marked in yellow on the map.

Parking

  • Parking on campus is limited and expensive. The majority of car parks are restricted to staff and students and require swipe card access. The exceptions are the 'West' (blue) carparks managed via CelloPark.
  • Street Parking is available on Talavera Rd; the closest spaces to the hospital are metered, and the further west spaces are free.  However, these usually fill quite quickly from 7 am.
  • There is no street parking on Herring Rd.
