Transforming AI innovation together

Explore various partnership and engagement opportunities with our centre.

The Frontier Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Centre (FAIR) welcome applications for membership from researchers across the University and honorary members from industry, government, and other institutions.

Ways to engage

Learn more about collaboration opportunities and partnership options below.

We seek meaningful partnerships with industries, government, NGOs, and universities with whom we share common interests and goals.

Industry partnerships

Our researchers are experienced in collaborating with small to large enterprises for actionable problem-solving. Please contact our researchers aligned with your interest areas or the centre leadership team for opportunities to collaborate, including through:

  • Australian Research Council grants
  • Cooperative Research Centres and projects
  • consulting projects.
Sponsorship opportunities

FAIR welcomes sponsorship by:

  • industry
  • government
  • non-governmental organisations.

Please contact the Centre Director or leadership team for discussion.

HDR students include both Master of Research (MRes) and Doctorate (PhD) courses of study. HDR students work closely with the centre’s leading researchers and are further supported by co-supervisors and external supervisors either within our team or experts from other institutions.

When you study a PhD with us, you benefit from:

  • leading-edge research in AI frontiers
  • HDR development support
  • industrial and international collaborative opportunities
  • outstanding research environment.
Application process

Prospective postgraduate students should apply directly to the University. While successful candidates are registered in their supervisor’s department, aligning your research with the centre’s scope and securing support can strengthen your application.

To find out more about a specific research supervisor, contact the relevant team leader or the tentative supervisor directly.

For general inquiries, contact the centre secretaries.

FAIR regularly hosts visits by distinguished academics from around the world.

If are you interested in visiting, contact a potential supervisor for discussion.
