Learn about the effects of lipodema on patients

Develop an understanding and insight into how lipoedema impacts an individual physically, functionally, psychologically and financially.

This online hybrid unit is designed to be interactive and multi-modal, enhancing the students' learning experience. It includes:

  • forum activities
  • knowledge checks
  • learning activities
  • online tutorials
  • videos.

  • 75 hours online (in the University’s session timeframe)
  • $1150 (plus GST)

Program details

  • Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 7 bachelor's qualification in a health degree or recognised equivalent, and/or an accredited Australasian Lymphology Association Lymphoedema Practitioner or international equivalent.

At the successful completion of this online training program you will be able to:

  • demonstrate effective communication skills in the context of person-centred care
  • demonstrate knowledge of scientific literature and evidence-based best practice for the assessment and management of lipoedema
  • interpret assessment findings and use clinical reasoning to develop an evidence-based person-centred management plan for individuals with lipoedema
  • work effectively and professionally with members of a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes for individuals with lipoedema.

Each unit is $1150 plus GST. Fees must be paid in Australian dollars by credit card or by invoice on request to alerteducation@mq.edu.au.

How to register
  1. Click on the registration link to make the payment.
  2. Once we have received the payment, you will receive a registration survey email. When completing the registration, have your current AHPRA Certificate ready to upload.
  3. Once we have received the completed registration survey, you will receive your official registration letter and ProLearn login instructions to commence your online learning.

A cancellation request will not be considered if a student has already commenced their online learning and assessment. If a student wishes to transfer to another session, they will incur a transfer fee of $100 plus GST. This transfer fee will be waived if a student can produce a medical certificate and/or suitable evidence of adverse circumstances.
