About the scholarship
The scholarship is part of an ARC discovery project on next-generation graph-level mining for high-complexity data environments. This project aims to advance data mining research by developing cutting-edge graph-level mining solutions for highly complex real-world data environments, such as multi-source, low-quality and multi-graph data.
The research will primarily explore intricate structural interactions in challenging scenarios to:
- enable effective, reliable and robust graph analysis with interpretability
- generate new knowledge.
The research is expected to produce high-quality outcomes with strong theoretical and empirical contributions, targeting leading venues in artificial intelligence, data mining, machine learning and related areas, such as: KDD, ICDM, WWW, IJCAI, AAAI, ICLR, NeurIPS, ACL, EMNLP, IEEE TKDE, IEEE TNNLS, and IEEE TPAMI.
We are seeking self-motivated and research-oriented candidates with strong foundations in:
- graph-based mining and learning
- hands-on research experience
- solid mathematical training.

Availability
This scholarship is available to eligible candidates undertaking a 4-year MRes + PhD, comprising of:
- a one-year MRes
- a three-year PhD.
Components
The scholarship comprises:
- a living allowance stipend
- a tuition fee offset/scholarship.
The value of each stipend scholarship is $40,900 per annum (full time, indexed) for four years.
