Full project title: AI-enabled digital twin for preventive care in aged care and rehabilitation facilities
The project focuses on:
- engineering scalable predictive models
- real-time data integration from IoT sensors and enterprise systems
- optimisation algorithms for resource allocation and scheduling
- automated decision support tools to address fall prevention, staff deployment and therapy coordination challenges.
About the scholarship
Sponsored by Lagrange.ai, a leader in AI-driven simulation and optimisation, this scholarship provides a full stipend for three years, enabling you to focus on developing scalable digital twin systems for healthcare applications.
The research project tackles complex engineering challenges in aged care and rehabilitation facilities, including:
- real-time sensor data integration
- predictive analytics for fall prevention
- automated decision support systems.
While digital twin technology has matured in industrial settings such as manufacturing and logistics, its engineering implementation in healthcare – particularly for modeling human behavior, health trajectories and facility operations – presents novel technical challenges. This project will engineer healthcare-focused digital twins that integrate IoT sensors, enterprise systems (ERP, MES) and AI/ML models to enable real-time monitoring and optimisation.
You will work closely with industry engineers and academic supervisors, developing expertise in:
- machine learning deployment
- digital twin architecture
- data orchestration
- model management
- enterprise system integration.
Availability
This scholarship is available to eligible candidates to undertake a direct-entry three-year PhD program.
