In conjunction with the Australian Corporate Treasury Association (ACTA), our Certificate in Corporate Treasury offers a flexible pathway to gaining certification.

The certificate is designed to enable you to successfully operate in a modern corporate treasury – teaching you a combination of technical, strategic and communication skills.

This flexible self-paced online program allows you to:

  • participate in only the modules you wish to complete to supplement your knowledge
  • undertake the full suite of modules and gain credentials from Macquarie University
  • pursue a flexible pathway to gain certification with ACTA.

Targeted at professionals in the operational stages of their treasury career, this program will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of key concepts and terminology relevant to corporate treasury and their practical application.

This program will enable you to progress your treasury career and become a trusted treasury advisor in your organisation. Bankers, accountants and consultants who advise or deal with corporate treasury will also benefit from this essential training.

This course contains two units:

Foundations of Treasury Management

This unit is ideal if you have recently moved into a corporate treasury role or work with a corporate treasury department.

  • Risk Management Instruments
  • Cash Flow Analysis and Financial Planning

Simulation part 1, including an assessment task.

Advanced Treasury Management

This unit is ideal if you have recently been appointed to a middle-level management position or work with a corporate treasury department.

  • Treasury Systems
  • Accounting and Taxation for Corporate Treasury
  • Valuation Tools for the Financial Markets
  • Foreign Exchange Risk Management – Applications
  • Commodity Risk Management – Applications
  • Debt Portfolio Management
  • Financial Strategy

Simulation part 2, including an assessment task.

Additional information
  • The estimated workload for each module is 10 to 15 hours.
  • Each module is available for 12 months from the time of registration. Complete the modules in your own time within this period.  Access will be revoked once 12 months has elapsed.
  • To complete each unit (seven modules), you must complete a final assessment. Your competency will be assessed in an online case-based simulation.

All prices include GST. Those residing outside of Australia while completing the course are GST exempt.

ACTA accreditation

Completion of both units (Foundations of Treasury Management and Advanced Treasury Management) of the Certificate of Corporate Treasury will entitle Members of the ACTA to apply to become a Certified Member and to use the membership acronym CCTA. To be recognised as a Certified Member, applicants must be a Member of the ACTA.

Macquarie postgraduate studies

Successful completion of each unit entitles you to five credit points at Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8, enabling you to use these as credit towards entitled postgraduate study.

ACTA members receive a discounted rate when they register for this program. The discount is not transferable – it is only applicable to the ACTA member registering for the program.

Non-members can join ACTA. But, in order to receive the member discount, you must become a financial member of ACTA before registering for this program.
