Monday 2. Sepr.
At 9. a.m. we embarked on bd. the Tug Steam Boat at Trinity Chain Pier at Newhaven, and arrived at Glasgow in the Margaret Track-Boat at 9. P.M. & put up at Star Inn.

Tuesday 3 Sepr. —
At ½ past 3 . P.M. Embarked on Caledonian Steam Boat on River Clyde for Greenock and arrived there at 6. P.M. putting up at the White Hart Inn. —

Wednesday 4. Sepr.
At 9. a.m. left Greenock and embarked on the Britannia Steam Boat for Campbelton; at 7. P.M. Put in to Loch Ranza in Isle of Arran in consequence of a Gale of Wind & rough Sea, where we anchored & lay all Night. — There is a very old Castle at Loch Ranza.

Thursday 5. Sepr. 1822.
The Gale having moderated we weighed anchor & left Loch-Ranza at ¼ past 7. a.m. and arrived at Campbelton at ½ past 11. a.m.; taking up our Quarters at Mc.Naughton's Inn (the Argyle Arms); where we intend spending a few days with our Sister Mrs. Col: Campbell.

N.B. These two last days were rainy & boistrous. —

Saty. 7. Sepr. !
I went with the Revd. Mr. — Mc.Leod in a Gig to see Torasdale Castle 12 miles from Campbelton. We dined wth. our Sister Mrs. Campbell. —

Sunday 8. Sepr.!
Went to Church to hear the Revd. Mr. Norman Mc.Leod Preach – who with his wife dined with us this Day. —

Monday 9. Sepr. 1822.
Embarked at ¼ past 6. a.m. on bd. the Britannia Steam Boat, and Sailed immediately from Campbelton.

At 1. P.M. arrived at the Town of Rothsay – left the Britannia and landed to see the Town. — At 2. P.M. Embarked on the Comet Steam-Boat, and left Rothsay for Loch Gilphead; at ½ past 8. arrived at the mouth of the Crinan Canal, and took up our Quarters at Ardrissaig Point Inn. —

Tuesday 10. Sepr. —
At 4. a.m. Embarked again on bd. the Comet & proceeded in her thro' the Crinan Canal, by Loch-Craignish &c. &c. arriving at the Town of Oban at 1. P.M.; landed and took up our Quarters at the new Inn kept by Menzies. —

Wednesday 11. Septr. 1822.
Went to Breakfast at Gallanoch wth. my Cousin Mrs. Mc.Dougall, where I met Sir Jno. & Lady Campbell & their Son; all of whom came in to Oban after Breakfast to see Mrs. M; — Mrs. Mc.Dougall and Harriot Lochbuy having come in the day before, soon after our landing. —

Thursday 12. Sepr.
The Highlander Steam Boat having arrived at Oban at 8, we embarked in her at 9. a.m. and set out for Mull immediately, touching at Auchnacraig, Duart (where I landed for 5 minutes to embrace my dear Broyr. Chas. who rode down to the shore to meet me – ), and Ardtornish. — We arrived at Aross [sic] at 3. P.M. and landed immediately at Salen, from whence Mrs. M. in a Cart set out for Knock; the Baggage following us in another Cart escorted by John & George, and the 2 Women Servts., Lachlan, Baker, [?] Watts & myself walking.

We arrived at Knock at ½ past 4. P.M. and were most kindly received by the Miss Campbells, Col: Campbell being absent at Tirie. —

Sunday 15. Septr.
Col: Campbell Knock returned Home this day from Tirie. — I set out at ½ past 12 on a Visit to my Brother and arrived at Auchnacroish at ½ past 4. P.M. just in time for Dinner. —

Monday 16. Sepr.
I returned to Knock – and found all well there. —

Tuesday 17. Sepr.
I sent an Express to Sir Jno. Campbell, Mr. Jno. Gregorson and Broyr. Charles, to apprize them of our Plans for the ensuing week. —

Thursday 19. Sepr.
Mr. Hamilton set out this morning on his return to Edinbr.; proceeding by Aros, Ardtorinish [sic] & Duart.

Friday 20 Sepr. —
I this day visited my Sister at Oskamull Lachn. accompanying me in his new Boat, after Breakfast; returning to Knock to Dinner.

Thursday 26. Sepr. 1822.
Col: Campbell Knock left Home this Evening on his way to the Low Country.

Saty. 28. Sepr.
Paid a Visit at Auchadashenaig, calling at Aros & Salen. —
